Beauty Review: Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush

Hello everyone! I wanted to update my blog with a brief review of Tarte’s Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush, which is exclusively available at my favorite store in the world: Sephora (seriously, I spent hours at their Champs-Élysées location–how could I not? There is a MAC Cosmetics store inside!) This nutrient-drenched blush with is infused with organic clay collected from the banks of the Amazon River and then baked by the sun sound–how glamourously dramatic! The blush has anti-inflammatory emollients and protects against free radical damage, oxidative stress, premature signs of aging while brightening skin with Vitamin E, A, and C. The well-traveled Amazonian clay multitasks to balance skin by hydrating dry, flaky skin and remove oil from the top layer of skin to ensure super-staying power.

I normally stick to NARS blush in the universally flattering pink-peach shade Orgasm or the Benefit blush watermelon pink shade Bella Bamba, but I decided to try Tarte’s blush after falling in love with LipSurgence Lip Stains. I was particularly impressed with how long the blush stayed vibrant on my cheeks. I applied the blush in Amused from the apples of the cheeks up onto the temples; it added a beautiful pop of pink that lasted all day. Literally, all day–from 8:00 a.m. and the flush lasted into the early evening. Granted, I did use Urban Decay’s All Nighter Long-Lasting Makeup Setting Spray, which I use daily and never has truly kept my makeup from needing touch-ups.

Blush application tip: Swirl blush brush (try a medium-dense domed brush–I love Sonia Kashuk’s Blusher Brush) lightly over the blush, tap off the excess powder that may be on the head of the brush, and gently sweep over the apples of the cheeks and up into the temples.

All in all, the blush when on smooth, stayed vibrant for hours, and left me glowing all day.
