Put eyes in neutral with this universally flattering look.

When I needed a break from my standard shadow-less stare, I popped into Sephora for a complimentary 15-minute Everyday Eye Mini Makeover. In four simple steps, an expert artist transformed my eyes from sickly to standout. Here, find out how to recreate this polished look at home, then try out a Mini Makeover for yourself in any Sephora store. RENEE TRILIVAS

STEP ONE: PRIME
Claudiavel, my Sephora beauty expert, began by tapping Too Faced Shadow Insurance eye primer from lash lines to browbones to keep shadow from fading.

STEP TWO: ENHANCE
To continue, she patted on a matte nude shadow from the Marc Jacobs Beauty Style Eye-Con No.7 Plush Shadow palette in The Lolita from lash lines to browbones with SEPHORA COLLECTION Pro Small Shadow Brush #15.

STEP THREE: SHAPE
Using SEPHORA COLLECTION Pro Crease Brush #10, she dusted a matte mink brown shadow from the Lolita palette along the creases with swift, back-and-forth motions and along the lower lash lines. Next, she created a bright-eyed effect by pressing shimmery champagne shadow from the palette into the inner corners and the centers of lids with the same small shadow brush.

STEP FOUR: DEFINE
After, she added subtle definition by wiggling Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Demolition, a deep brown liner, along the upper lash lines, blending it out with SEPHORA COLLECTION Pro Smudge Brush #11. Then, she finished the look by stroking on MAKE UP FOR EVER Smoky Lash mascara to thicken look of the lashes. The doe-eyed effect, perfect for the office and five o’clock happy hour, made me feel effortlessly polished in just 15 minutes.
